This microlearning course created in Rise 360 consolidates the most essential aspects of accessible course design for online educators.
Many course designers are unaware of WCAG 2.2 standards for creating accessible content, or prefer to avoid them because the guidelines are numerous and are not presented in a user-friendly format.
This micro-learning project, created in Rise 360, is designed to orient course designers to guidelines for accessibility in a clearly-presented way that feels achievable. It synthesizes the most essential of the 86 criteria into 3 categories, each with 3-5 elements.
In addition to instructing users about the WCAG 2.2 standards, this project also employs those standards in its design, providing a model for users to follow. Several of Mayer's Multimedia Principles are also on display in this project, such as incorporating images that illustrate key points, minimizing superfluous content, segmenting information into smaller chunks, consolidating disparate elements into blocks of similar information, and allowing users to control the pace of the instruction.
I've created hundreds of microlearning experiences for clients using the QuizToo platform, handling everything from course structure and lesson design to content upload and assessment creation. Working iteratively with clients, I ensured each course meets their goals before publishing. I also supported post-launch success by helping monitor learner engagement and outcomes through data visualization tools. Courses are available for purchase at quiztoo.com.
